REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2008 – 7:30 P.M.

I. MEETING CALL TO ORDER – PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

III. OMNIBUS AGENDA:

All items on the Omnibus Agenda are considered to be routine in nature by the City Council and will be enacted in one motion.  There will not be separate discussion of these items unless a Council member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Omnibus Agenda and considered separately.

A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: April 23, 2008.

B. STATEMENT OF BILLS through May 14, 2008: $353,370.62.

C. Application for a special use from James Dean Muffler & Brake, 6501 Joliet Road, requesting permission to hold a car show on May 18th from 10 to 3 pm.

D. Application for a general business license from DMG Industries LLC, 7301 Willow Springs Road, #304.  Type:  Home Office.  Applicant: Damnic Grujic

E. Application for a special use from Windy City Postcard Club to hold a postcard show at Local #150 Engineer’s Hall on May 31, 2008 from 8 am to 4 pm.

F. SUBSCRIPTION:  Suburban Life – Clerk’s Office - $54 (2-year).

G. Solicitation request from the American Legion Post #1941 to solicit at various locations for Poppy Day on May 22 -2   4, 2008. 

H. Special Use request from the Best Western Chicagoland/Countryside to conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony including refreshments and band playing from 4 to 7 pm on May 30, 2008.

B. From the Countryside Chamber of Commerce requesting to co-host the 7th Annual Antique Classic Custom Car & Cycle Show on May 30, 2008 at the Best Western Hotel parking lot, 6501 Joliet Road

D. Consideration of authorizing a 20% administrative fee be added to pass-thru costs.

E. Draft ordinance amending liquor license fees effective immediately.

F. Draft ordinance amending tobacco license fees effective immediately.

G. Consideration of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Pleasantview Fire Protection District re: cleanup of 5745 La Grange Road – the old firehouse property.

XI. ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

A. Engineer’s pay estimate for Pump House #1 & 2 Rehabilitation to Genco Industries for $127,885.61.

B. Architect’s certificate for payment for the Brancato Park & Woodland Ridge Park to Kenneth Company for $10,723.86.

C. Engineer’s pay estimate #4 and final for the 2007 Street & Alley Rehabilitation to Central Blacktop - $37,776.19.

D. Recommendation to accept the low bid of Crystal Maintenance Services for $1,480 monthly for Countryside City Hall custodial services.

E. Invoice #6 from TENG for the ITEP- La Grange Road project for $37,179.60

XIV. ADJOURNMENT to executive session

Your Honor, I move that we adjourn into executive session under Section 2Aa and 2B1  Open Meetings Act for the purpose of discussing #150 DPW Labor Agreement and the appointment to fill the position of Senior Accountant.

XV. Reconvene to Regular Session

a. Consideration of the approval of the #150 DPW Labor Agreement. Resolution required.

B. Consider approval of the exclusion of the position of Senior Accountant from the collective bargaining unit.

C. Approve the salary level for this position to be $62,088.
