Gail Bartelt has worked in the City Clerk’s Office
since 1987; in 1995 she was appointed as the Deputy City Clerk for the
City of Countryside.
Working in the City Clerk’s Office requires the
safe record keeping of all official documents. The City Clerk’s Office
prepares and maintains all Council and Committee minutes. Official
Notices are disseminated through the Clerk’s Office. Freedom of
Information requests are processed through this office. The Clerk’s
Office recently implemented a new procedure for the renewal of business
licenses, eliminating the duplication of effort for our business owners.
The Office is also currently in the process of electronically storing
permanent records for emergency retrieval.
Payments for water bills, building permits,
excavation bonds, legal publication costs, and real estate transfers are
collected at this location. In addition, residents wishing to
participate in the 50/50 tree removal, library or pool program can have
their documentation processed.
With 22 years of municipal experience, Gail continues
to attend professional conferences and seminars, holding the designation
of Certified Municipal Clerk and Registered Clerk.
